Specialty Key to Success – Covert Tracking for Law Enforcement

by Greg White on August 26, 2008

With over 150 vendors in the GPS tracking segment, specialty is the key to success for emerging players.

Recently I’ve begun working with GPSit, which has a very unique niche – they build solutions for Law Enforcement Technical Surveillance, and specifically GSP based, Covert Tracking.

Their vertical niche has been served with specialty products from companies such as Coleman Technologies, Orion, Geonautics and a few other players. What’s changed to allow them to very effectively compete is newer generation, highly sensitive AGPS devices from companies like Sendum. These new devices have enabled solution deployments at 25% the cost and greater performance of the incumbent’s proprietary solutions.

Of course there is the “secret sauce”, GPSit is developing solutions that work well across borders, and incorporate sensors that enable much longer battery life and substance detection of interest to law enforcement. GPSit maintains is trust worthy status with law enforcement by keeping most of these proprietary enhancements confidential only to their law enforcement client base.

Expect GSPit to grow steadily, as their client base continues to expand its use of covert tracking for technical surveillance.
